The State of Texas has reviewed the BSA online youth protection course and found that it doesn't cover everything it wants for licensed youth summer camps. So, adults attending or staffing Scout camps that last four or more days must take a classroom version of the BSA youth protection training.
This required training affects ALL adults who will attend summer camp -- Both for Boy Scout weeklong camps and Cub Scout day camps!
Here are two ways to get the required training:
- The Chisholm Trail District will be teaching the Youth Protection Training required for licensed BSA Camps at the April Roundtable Meeting. This will be held in the cafeteria of Patsy Sommer Elementary.
- Location: Patsy Sommer Elementary School

Sign up is now open for all Chisholm Trail and Round Rock LDS Units. ALL OTHER UNITS CAN SIGN UP ON MAY 15TH
Capitol Area Council will be hosting Merit Badge Fair on August 11th and August 18th at the Round Rock Stake Center, 8140 Racine Trail, Round Rock,Texas. Scouts must attend both dates.

There will be two Cub scout day camps in the Chisholm Trail District. The Hallmark Day Camp is currently full. The Old Settler's Day camp is accepting registrations now.
General info:
- The theme this year is “Digging in the Dirt”
- Visit Capitol Area Council day camp sitefor more information on all of the Council area Day Camps, including opportunities further from Round Rock than our two camps.
- Register for Cub Scout day camp here. Registration is now open and will close when each camp is full (Hallmark is full already). Be sure to pick the correct camp and note the dates. Registration is $80 until April 30 and $100 after.
